Natalia Yepes-Lutchman, Dolores Daza
Audra Fryberger is a graduate of DeSales University with Degrees in Dance and Musical Theatre. She has been singing, dancing and performing for 24 years and has performed at both the collegiate and professional level. She has also worked as a dance captain at Theatre Arts Center, working with Broadway performers. Audra spends her days as an event planner at Quiet Events. Audra is in her 5th year teaching at Astoria Dance Centre. Audra is trained in Tap, Jazz, Modern, Ballet. At Astoria Dance Centre’s she teaches the Broadway Bound Program (Singing, Acting and Musical Theatre Dance), Adult Tap and Ballet. In the summer she teaches the ADC Summer Starz camp and Jazz for ages 9 & up.
Natalia is a BFA graduate from the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance, where she received 4 years of intense training from world renowned professors and artists. She is also a graduate of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts High School. Natalia has been dancing since she was 3 years old and she joined the Astoria Dance Centre family when she was 9. She is proficient in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern Dance. She has also studied and taught abroad in Burgos, Spain under the direction of Kazuko Hirabayashi. Natalia's love for dance has taken her far and she hopes to one day fulfill her life long dream of becoming a Radio City Rockette. In the meantime she found a passion for teaching that she simply cannot ignore. Natalia has been on the faculty of ADC for 8 years. Natalia currently teaches Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern Dance at ADC.
Dolores has grown up and danced at Astoria Dance Centre since the age of 3. It has been a lifetime dream of hers to one day teach, and her dreams have been fulfilled. Dolores graduated Cardozo High School where she was accepted into the dance program. In 2004, she received a partial scholarship to the Tap City Program at the American Foundation for Tap Dance. She has performed throughout the NYC area with Astoria Dance Centre as both a dancer and choreographer. Dolores has been on faculty at ADC for the past 12 years and teaches a wide variety of dance styles to ages 2 through Adults. She continues to study dance to enhance her teaching and dance knowledge. Dolores is also a certified Zumba Instructor. She truly enjoys teaching dance.
Maureen Gelchion, Owner and School Director
Maureen Gelchion has owned and directed Astoria Dance Centre Inc., in Queens, New York City, for 36years. Maureen manages a staff of 15 teachers, sales associates and assistants. In addition to a full dance program she offers a variety of music and acting classes, including the Broadway Bound program. Her dance curriculum is extensive and she directs several unique preschool programs. Maureen also owns a separate dancewear store, A Dancer's Closet to service dance studios throughout her community. She shares the management of her businesses with her husband Tony Corso who teaches acting at their school. Together they have presented seminars for “Husband and Wife” school owner teams.
Maureen has been teaching dance for 43 years. Maureen has been a presenter for the DanceLife Teacher Conferences, the DanceLife Retreat Center and for I.D.E.A. Maureen is also a member ofthe Dance Educators of America, the Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey and the National Dance Education Organization and is an advocate of the National Dance Week Foundation. Maureen is thrilled and honored to be on the Advisory Board for the International Dance Entrepreneurs Association.
